For sale: absolutely beautiful, stunning, heavy solid mahogany turn of
the century bedroom set. Everything comes together as a set, except for
the headboard- it is not part of the original suite, but I believe it is
also mahogany and it matches flawlessly. Headboard is likely ca. 1910, I believe the dressers and desk are ca. 1880. AMAZING woodworking and
stained wood flower cameo at the top of the headboard. The headboard is
for a FULL sized bed. It does NOT have rails or a footboard. The
dressers match, and the shorter dresser comes with an absolutely
beautiful mirror (not pictured- I was not allowed to hang it up because
my father wouldn’t let me put a nail in the wall). The mirror barely
shows its age, though it is missing a piece or two of wood detailing-
not enough to detract from its appeal. Both dressers have beautiful
green and gold paintings on the drawers, except for the very top drawers
(which are tiny, for lingerie, socks, etc.). The shorter dresser has
two cabinets, one on either side, which open outwards to reveal two
small shelves. The cabinet door on the right side is stuck- the handle
is missing and I can’t get it open without potentially damaging the
dresser. Both dressers have minor signs of wear- nothing that can’t be
polished up with Old English. I prefer to leave them as they are,
because I like the “loved” look. These drawers are very deep, and very
roomy- which made them perfect for me, because I’m a total clothes
horse. There is also a desk (not pictured) that goes with these
dressers. It is small, definitely for a lady, and absolutely beautiful.
All of this furniture is SOLID MAHOGANY front, sides, and back- and
therefore HEAVY AS HECK! I can NOT deliver, so please come prepared with
SEVERAL very strong men and proper moving EQUIPMENT (pads, dollies, whatever).
This furniture must go, sad as it makes me, because I’m moving out of
country. I am the third owner- I bought them from a woman who inherited
everything from her grandmother. This furniture is beyond
gorgeous, you need to see it in person to appreciate the craftsmanship. I can email or try to upload more photos if requested.
RETURNS: Because I am moving to South Korea (USAF), I CANNOT accept returns on this item. If that were possible, I wouldn’t be selling it at all! I guarantee that once you see it, you won’t want to return it anyway. 🙂 It’s unbelievably beautiful.
