BUDDY L CONSTRUCTION TOY
CEMENT MIXER – CA. 1926
This is a wonderful untouched example of a great Buddy L toy. This piece is from the construction line that they ran from the mid 1920’s through the 1930’s. It is made of pressed steel and painted green. These toys are rugged and were made to be used and played with and this one is no exception. It is a fully functional toy and can mix and dump cement. The toy is approx. 9″ across, 7 1/2″ tall and 10 3/4″ deep with the hopper. This is a collector’s dream being that it is in original condition. There are some remnants of cement on the toy from a child’s hours of play and enjoyment (please view pictures). Minor surface rust but no corrosion. The labels are still intact with very little loss. All mechanisms are operational but the crank needs to be restrung. Someone may prefer to restore this piece and it is fully restorable since all parts are present. A serious collector would find this very suitable due to the originality and untouched condition of this much loved toy.
