Antique Direct Vision Comparison Spectroscope by Browning

Plush-lined case 4½” long contains a very nice example of a direct vision spectroscope by John Browning. The spectroscope has a small prism, which can be accessed by means of a small hole when the protective cover is in place  and allows two spectra to be compared. The instrument is in near-mint condition whilst its case is also in with good catch and hinges.
