This was an awesome find. I purchased a large antique printer’s Tray full of hundreds of old, antique advertising printer’s blocks. This one is advertising MARLAND OILS. The block is in excellent, uncleaned condition and is 7/8″ tall x just over 1″ across and 7/8″ depth. AND, I COULD CERTAINLY USE SOME HELP ON THIS ONE FROM ANY MOTOR OIL COLLECTOR THAT KNOWS ABOUT MARLAND!!!! I tried my best, and looks like it was near PONCA CITY OKLAHOMA. ESTABLISHED in 1917. Best I can tell, by 1929 there was a merger (Marland actually bought CONTINENTAL, but they decided to keep the older, more established, recognizable name….CONTINENTAL, so, this leads me to believe this block would date to pre 1929 ….so, I THINK it may be sort of RARE!! Any help I get, I’ll post to the listing to share with all!!! Thanks so much! …..and, this is only one of hundreds of old advertising printer blocks I will be listing for a long time to come!!!! (Look at those last photos of the tray full!!) I think it’s a super Gasoline/Motor Oil Collectible.
