Antique ALL ORIGINAL German Civil War Flat Top China Doll 12″. This is a nice little Civil War Fat top china doll wearing the original probably Mommy made)2 piece dress,apron,chemise, petticoat and pantalets. She is a shoulderhead with a black flat top hairdo with side curls and ringlets in the back. The shoulderhead has 3 sew holes on each side. Her body is of stuffed cloth with china arms and legs. The doll itself is in nice condition with a sturdy original body that although it has some stains, is still in pretty good shape. The head has no hairlines, chips or cracks, but does show some wear on the back curls and has a few pindot firing marks by the left side of the nose ( see pic 3) and on the neck. The front hair is very nice.The arms are perfect except for a few firing dots and the flat foot black painted shoes have no damage, but do show some paint wear. The 2-piece dress has a blouse of sheer checked cotton and the skirt is of sheer cotton trimmed in 2 rows of cotton lace. The fabric is pretty weak and has some tears, but these are mainly at the back and uder the arm, so she still displays nicely. The embroidered cotton apron is still in nice shape, as is the cotton chemise, and the matching set of cotton pintucked, lace-trimmed petticoat & pantalets.
