C 1730 ENGLISH HIGH GRADE GOLD REPEATING FUSEE POCKET WATCH BY JOSEPH ANTRAM NoR

This listing is for a quite rare English early 18th century gold cased repeating pocket watch by one of England’s renowned pocket watch makers Joseph Antram. The watch I have here is missing the dial, crystal and hands. The watch itself is in working order I will do my best to explain to you its condition.
First the case. The case measures 1 3/4 of an inch or 45 mm in diameter. It is quite deep measuring an inch or 25 mm. The case is of a very high karat. I believe it is 22 karat and probably made from melted gold coins. At any rate it tests above 18k gold. The inside of the gold case has three hallmarks which are pretty worn, please refer to the photographs. The outside of the gold case is open worked and engraved with lion masks, birds and flower vines. Inside the gold case is a steel case. This interior steel piece fits perfectly into the gold. It would be connected to the gold by a pin in it’s center, this is missing. Both the gold and inside covers have a hole in them to enable the watch to be wound.
The movement is protected by an outer cover. This cover is engraved with "JOSEPH ANTRAM WATCHMAKER TO HIS MAJESTY LONDON" There is also a crescent shaped opening in this cover that reads "faster". The movement itself is a chain driven affair. It is marked "JOSEPH ANTRAM WATCH MAKER TO HIS MAJ’ty" and what is probably the serial number 122. The top of the movement has fancy open work engraving including a mask and a snake whose tongue points to a silver dial on top of the movement.
This movement had an old tag on it which identifies it as a fusee with an alarm. I gave this movement to a knowledgeable watch repair person and this is what he told me. That it was not an alarm movement but rather a repeater movement. He also told me that the movement worked fine but that thought there might be a lever missing that would sit under the dial and on top of the movement as you see it photographed here. He was not sure of that however. This is of course in addition to the dial, hands and crystal being missing. This is a rare clock movement and case, but it needs help.
