Adorable and totally cheerful with the sweetest expression, this 21” Kestner Baby Jean Character smiling baby has a solid-dome bisque head incised “J.D.K. // 15 // made in Germany” on lower neck. Blue glass eyes appear to be factory-set with all-around finest painted lashes under feathered glazed brows~ (old very smooth repair over left eye-socket); plump cheeks are very rosy and the open mouth has two tiny porcelain teeth and molded tongue. Baby’s hair is lightly molded with brush-stroked dark-blonde hair.

The correct Kestner composition baby body has a big round tummy and bent baby limbs, finish and paint are original and high up on the neck is “Made in Germany” red stamp. Dressed for visiting baby wears a vintage embroidered batiste gown with matching slip, and a flannelette diaper, and comes from  a non-smoking home.
