Please review photo’s. Based on color and style, this marble would be a transitional, and our estimate is from Navarre Glass Co.. History & ProvenanceOver a year ago, we were contracted to sell the abandoned contents in a warehouse in Rural Michigan. One of the most dominate items left, were thousands and thousands of marbles. Little did I know how much their was to learn about these facinating items. It didn’t take me long to identify the passed owner. And fortunately, we were able to put together the pieces. The owner (now deceased) was Robert Lustig. He was a big fan of older marbles and attended lots of auctions. We found all the Running Rabbit auction VHS tapes in a box, along with what he had invested! He was a big buyer on also, his old user ID was woodcutter… Now we are opening up the entire collection in lots. Being a bit more familiar, we will make the lots interesting. Measurements will vary along each axis from 1 3/16 to 1 1/4 inch. The color is a transparent olive type color, mixed with a White Opaqe Swirl. The photo’s will show the condition. This marble still maintains most of it’s wet look, but shows some subsurface moons, pin pricks and a side hit that is noticeable in the photo.Transitional marbles can be difficult for positive ID and lack of packaging. Navarre Glass Co and later MF Christianson had similar type marbles up to 1915. This color has been identified with other Navarre Glass Co Marbles that have been sold, but I leave it to the buyer to place the vintage.
