Excellent and Incredibly Early Antique Patented 1867 Charles Parker Blacksmith, Gunsmith, or Machinist Vise with no swivel base but in excellent used condition
This scarce and ridiculously early vise by Charles Parker was made very shortly after the Civil War, at the height of Parker Shotgun and Gun making. The jaws are just over 4″ wide and they open and clamp to a full 7″. It is marked in two places with the very early patent of 1867, and should be a highly sought after tool for Parker Shotgun and Vise collectors. The missing swivel base is actually quite an easy piece to attain as several early Reed, Prentiss, and Yost vises use the same simple mounting system, or a hole can quite easily be bored through the base to mount and use it the way it is. Regardless it is a great piece for collectors, and scarce!
Please check the pictures for the exact condition, it’s nice for being nearly 150 years old!
