Early Firkin w/ Brass Tacks – Newer Robin’s Egg Blue Distressed Paint
Description
Up for consideration is an antique firkin from the late 1800’s. Made of tongue and groove slats and banded with solid wood bands w/ brass tacks and a staple at the end of the band. There are some small wooden pegs attaching the band to the original lid top.
This firkin is in solid nice condition. The lid is nice and straight and the handle moves freely.
This is painted in robin’s egg blue with an authentic style, worn textured paint surface. I painted this within the last ten years or so. I only paint those items that need rescued from a poor or totally ugly paint job.
The firkin measures 9 1/2 inches across the top, 10 inches across the bottom and is 10 inches tall.
I also have listed another early firkin that this one will sit on top nicely. It too has brass tacks.
