am pleased to offer a superb
miniature christening tankard
circa 1784.
Made by Charles Hougham of
London Grimwade documents
Hougham as apprenticed to
Henry Corry, 4th July 1764 on
payment on fifteen pounds,
freedom is unrecorded.
Standing a mere four inches
tall, the weight is a
respectable 170.5gms whilst
the graceful baluster body
displays an original monogram
of RHG? which leads to
circular pedestal foot.
A fine handmade example of
George III silver with a cast
handle offered for auction
this week.
In

with a wonderful patina.
