Description : A very fine 18th C. Chinese Tibetan gilt bronze figure of Buddha, Sitting in dhyanasana in a meditative state on an exquisite double lotus base with serene expression, with heavy lidded eyes with swooping brow with bow lips, simply beautiful. The the slender Buddha with perfect posture with one hand holding a lotus flower, the other reaching for a tendril on the shoulder, the principal pair of hands held in anjali mudra. Notice the fine engraved detail to the drapery of the robe, wearing elaborate jewelry inlaid with coral and turquoise…
Size : 6 1/8″ tall x 4 1/2″ wide x 3 1/4″ deep

Condition : Original gilt with some light wear and surface patina, a lght cleaning with some swabbed amonia will usually clean the tarnished areas back to beautiful gold gilt….There was a set of tassel that originally folded over the double lotus base which are long gone, there was a space of three -four beads for each tassel on the very top of the lotus base which were repaired by my restorer. The figure is estate found just as you see and overall in very good condition. This is an exceptional quality bronze.
