Antique Late 18th Century Italian School Pious Oil – Cherub With Cross

ANTIQUE

Antique late 18th-century circa 1775 Italian school baroque styled pious original oil on canvas. Interesting conversation work in that the artist for some reason has decided to make the focal point half naked cherub posed as to give his audience or viewer the back or is this cherub notably looking for something in the far distance. It’s hard to pin point the actual interpretation, but one can not dispute that it is a very rare religious interpretation. The cherub is extremely detailed to the point where one can see the perfectly proportioned torso and chubby fat legs of a newborn. it is unsigned as most religious commissions were. Boast a nice newer gold gilt frame measuring 18″ x 21″ tall and the actual image is 14″ x 17″ tall.
